Cambridge Corners
walks and rides away from the crowds
You've already seen King's College Chapel? And been shopping? This website is for residents of Cambridge (UK), tourists or anyone else who wants to see a little more in and around our city than just the standard tourist sites, either on foot or by bike.
Within the City
Castle Hill, Kettle's Yard and Great St. Mary's Coe Fen, Lammas Land and the Mill Pond
Midsummer Common, Riverside and the Cellarer's Checker Hobson's Conduit and the Botanical Gardens
The Leper Chapel and Coldham's Common Cherryhinton Hall and the chalk pits
Outside Cambridge - within 4 miles of the city centre
Nine Wells Baits Bite Lock
Grantchester and the meadows (in memory of Syd) Limekiln and Fulbourn nature reserves
Wandlebury ring and the Roman road Coton and the Wimpole Way
Little Wilbraham fen Milton Country Park
Nearly all the walks can also be done on a sturdy bike, although rough ground and stiles are not uncommon.  All, of course, include a visit to the pub. You'll need a good street map of Cambridge with paths marked - try the Ordnance Survey 1:10000 city map. Outside Cambridge you'll need the relevant OS 1:50000 or 1:25000 map. All the descriptions include photos and maps with overlaid routes and waymark points.
