Big fire in London warehouse

It’s not clear why Watkins kept this cutting, part of which is now missing. Perhaps it was because (as stated in the Times) the fire occurred in the Coldharbour district.

BIG RIVERSIDE FIRE.

LONDON WHARF IN FLAMES.

THRILLING LEAPS TO SAFETY.

70 ENGINES CALLED TO THE SCENE.

One of the largest fires experienced in London for some time—more than £300,000 worth of damage was done—broke out yesterday afternoon at a warehouse in Concordia Wharf, Managers-street, E.

There were many thrilling escapes. Some of the men employed in the building found that their only means of escape was through a fanlight on the Cutting incomplete

Source info: Fire was 7 January 1924 (Times).
