STORY OF STORRIDGE.

A curious fact, not perhaps generally known to Herefordshire people, is that it has been conjectured that the memorable conference between St. Augustine the missionary from Rome to the Saxons, and the British bishops, was held upon the hill called Storridge, in the neighbouring parish of Cradley. There is, however, a good deal of uncertainty as to the correctness of this assertion. It has been further supposed that on an eminence to the right of Storridge, known as Bearswood, was one of the old temples of the Ancient Britons.
