Ball Bearing Marx Generator

Marx generator info:

Marx Generator

This is a 20 stage Marx generator using 1nF capacitors, 1M resistors and pairs of ball bearings to form the spark gaps.
The 16mm ball bearings are mounted on 3/8" pitch turret board with one hole between, so their centres are 3/4" apart forming 3.05mm gaps.
The spark gaps break down at around 10kV so the theoretical output voltage is 200kV, but in practice it will be 10-20 percent less.
The output jumps a 16cm gap. The charger uses a line output transformer and the well known Mazzilli ZVS driver constructed using Radionic.
The power source is 3 6V SLA batteries in series (18V). Another video shows the generator running in slow motion.
