Do you ever have trouble getting your duplicates to run on
time? If so the Duplicate Bridge Movement Timer could be for you - you
will be amazed how well behaved players are when a machine tells them to move!
Bridge Timer runs on
any Windows 95 or later laptop or desktop computer and displays a clock that
runs down second by second to let everyone in the room see how long there is
left for the current round. With 2 minutes to go before the end a chime
sounds to warn everyone to hurry up and not start another board if they are not
on their last one:

- Once you start the timer it keeps going
continuously, sounding the 2 minute warning (which you can adjust to make longer or
shorter) and then the time to move chimes before automatically moving on to
the next round. You
can always restart from any round by clicking the restart button, or you
can reset the round number by right clicking the button.
- Pausing, resetting and editing the time for the
current round can be done with the second button - either click the button
to pause the clock or right clcik to restart the timer for the current round, or you can add/subtract minutes
or seconds to the current round by clicking the up/down buttons or the +/-
keys or PgUp/PgDn keys if everyone finishes early or there is some delay
whilst the director announces something without pausing
the clock for example.
- Multi monitor use is supported. If you
have 2 or more monitors attached when you start the timer an extra button
appears on the bottom right panel that lets you switch the timer screen from
one monitor to the next making it easy to run a scoring program on one
monitor and display the timer to the players on the other.
If you display the timer on a remote screen in another room you can see what
it says and control it from a control panel that stays on the primary screen.
- Easy setup is done from the opening page -
select the number of rounds, number of boards per round (which in turn
selects the default time per round) and the warning time (a warning chime
sounds this long before the end of the round). You can edit both the
time per round and warning period to suit yourself:

- Pressing save will store these values and
automatically reuse them every time you open Bridge Timer to make it
particularly easy to set up and start once you have saved your favourite
timings. You can save different timings for 2,
3, 4 or 5 board rounds and they automatically get recalled when you change
the boards per round.
- Test the volume by clicking the volume
button. If it is too quiet or too loud right clicking this button
opens the Windows volume control so you can reset the volume. You can
also adjust the volume from the time display screen after you started if you
forget to do it at start-up.
- If you do not like my sounds you can use your own -
just your own .wav files in the installation folder and the program will
find them and add them to the drop down list of available sounds.
