Notes: Due to the format of the competition, both teams had originally wanted
to lose the game in order to get an 'easy' quarter-final (Wallis and
Futuna). Fiji then decided instead to preserve their unbeaten record and
increase their goal average: the losing quarter-finalist with the best
overall goal average would advance to the semi-finals, as there were only
three quarter-finals. With this 5-1 win, Fiji were virtually guaranteed of
a semi-final place, even if they lost their quarter-final.

Notes: Both teams advanced to the semi-finals after this quarter-final game, due
to their overall goal averages being superior to the other losing quarter-
finalists (Papua New Guinea 20-4 and Fiji 23-1, compared to Western Samoa
7-8 and Wallis and Futuna 5-8).
