Michael Grant's Family Tree: The Freeman Family

I don't know much about this branch of the family. Hillel Free(d)man, its patriarch, was a wholesale warehouseman; his wife Betty came from "Russia" (which could mean anywhere in the Pale of Settlement) to the UK (Burnley) at the age of twelve when her parents died. She was sent to live with an aunt but when she arrived, with nothing more than a label around her neck to identify her, she found the aunt had died.

The Blacks, Betty's family, lived in Sunderland. I don't know anything more about them.

Place names are birth places if no other places are given; all dates are in British format (DD/MM/YYYY). All living people have been removed from this tree before placing online; if you recognise anyone here as being related to you, please don't hesitate to , especially if you have material to contribute, in return for which I will happily share the full version, with photographs, PDF trees and other materials!
