The United States Airforce has now been given permission to extend the hangar-space at its Bentwaters air base in Suffolk.  This, in addition to its dire ecological effects on Rendlesham Forest (which will be cut down) will forever destroy the unexcavated site of the palace of the Saxon kings of East Anglia.  Protests are continuing, but a squadron of gatling-gun fitted A10 fighters is soon to be flown in.

An ancient mark-stone at the entrance to the carpark of Catons food store on the A11 road at Stansted in Essex was recently uprooted during resurfacing work.  However, a subsequent visit showed that far from being carted away, it has been re-set in its former hole!  Such an event is sadly abnormal – usually the stone disappears for ever.
