MEMOIRS OF THE DAEMONIC EMPIRE REVISITED: OR HER MAJESTY’S GENERAL POST OFFICE – OUR ONLY METHOD OF DELIVERY TRIED AND FOUND SORELY LACKING
======================================================================================================================================================

Several subscribers recently have notified the editor that their issue of ANCIENT MYSTERIES has not arrived.  This, we apologize, however is not the fault of the stalwart band who turn, collate, staple, pack and lick vilely-glued postage stamps, but Her Majesty’s Servants in the formerly-General now Post Office Corporation.  In the last two months, we have personally suffered the following thefts by Post Office employees (to be charitable, ‘losses’): Sheila Cann never received a £1 note sent as an ‘offer’ from Nescafe; my son Martin had his Christmas present, a model railway engine, stolen in transit from Eastbourne, and a mail order pair of boots arrived as a package in a plastic bag overprinted with “Helping To Protect Your Mail”, without, needless to say, the boots, which now doubtless grace a Post Office employee’s feet.  Of all these ripoffs, nothing can be done, and now we are faced with a 15 per cent increase in postage as well.  Let us apologize again for the ‘service’ provided by Her Majesty’s Servants, and assure you that we do dispatch subscriptions even if they don’t deliver them.
The Editor.
