ANCIENT MYSTERIES

The Journal of Geomancy, Lost Knowledge and Ancient Enigmas

EDITORIAL

This is the first issue of the new-style Journal of Geomancy, now re-titled Ancient Mysteries to reflect the wide coverage of material we have been carrying of late.  Needless to say, the content and standard of material has not altered, but we feel that an alteration in format will make the publication easier to handle and more attractive.  This issue sees the debunking of the orthodox archaeologists’ sneer that the etymology of the word Geomancy refers to ‘dots at random’ – indeed, we find that their scholarship is slipshod.  Also in AM is the result of my researches into the strange enigma of the Nazi mountaineering exploits on the Holy Mountain of the Aryans; Russian research into Stonehenge; geomantic research after William Henry Black in Herefordshire and much else from the byways of ancient mysteries research.

With the change in title, we are numbering the Journal in sequence from the first Journal of Geomancy in 1976, thus this issue is 4/4, whole number 16.  For bibliographiles, the ISSN remains at 0308-5406.

The upcoming issue of AM will contain a full account of the Third Cambridge Geomancy Symposium, which was held on May 17th 1980.

Imminent for publication is Michael Behrend’s complete new translation of the works of the German geomant Kurt Gerlach (1940–43).  Work is now in hand to check his observations in England.
