THIS PHOTOGRAPH was taken in the light of evening as we returned by shikara from Nishat Gardens. We estimated that the hills, which rise very steeply, are some 5,000 to 6,000 feet above lake level. Nishat Gardens are about a mile to the east of the scene of this photograph, at the foot of the hills. Our houseboat was moored some three or four miles in the opposite direction.
