Sending email requires full email address [RESOLVED]

Some members may currently be experiencing problems sending emails from their email clients (such as Outlook, Mac Mail, or a mobile phone), despite all their settings remaining the same.

This is because we had an incindent of a compromised account being used for spamming, and the spammer was able to get around the automatic blocking of the account.

A change was made to prevent this, but it appears to have affected a few users on the new framework whose username in their client settings is missing the domain part of their email address.

Changing the 'Username' field to your full, primary email address should resolve the problem.

Though this has always been the case (as specified in our help articles), it appears as though a 'loophole' has been allowing some members to login with a client with only their username.

We are currently looking into the issue, and are testing a solution which will resolve both the loophole and the login issues.

[10.30]  We have now applied the new solution.  This will now enable you to log in on your client with your email address, alias, quick login code or username instead of being restricted to your primary email address.

If you encounter any issues, please do get in touch and we will be happy to assist you.
